Tim brings over 30 years of experience at the helm and valuable knowledge about the local waters of Puerto Rico. After being a boat captain around Puerto Rico on a variety of vessels, Tim is an extremely experienced and capable captain. His custom boat, Regina Grace, is the perfect vessel for small groups of divers. His local experience ensures that the best dive site for each day and varying set of conditions will be chosen to dive.
Embodying reliability and a steadfast commitment to safety, Captain Tim ensures that each dive is a secure and enjoyable experience. Yet, beyond his serious demeanor lies a captain with a knack for humor. Kai’s love of teaching and adventure has fueled his 12 + year career in the outdoors working with adults and kids and running outdoor programming across 5 states & Puerto Rico. His service-oriented mindset coupled with a strong risk management orientation leads him to provide the highest quality of care to clients in extreme outdoor environments and high risk activities. His love of diving started with that thrill of weightlessness and love of recreating in a 3 dimensional environment and evolved to include his love of watching underwater ecology play out in real time. With a strong background in coaching technical outdoor skills and building outdoor companies he saw an opportunity to bring his own unique approach and insights to Dive Education. Since his first discovery dive in 2019 Kai has continually sought out certifications and experience to build on his diving resume ultimately opening Sojourn Diving Adventures in 2020.
