Now that is a DPV!!!!

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

Some of the members of Team Nautilus (the rest are jealous) recently had the opportunity to check out an awesome DPV.  We have been told that the top speed is 20 knots!!!! at full power and 1-2 knots at 10%.  Instead of using propeller technology, the system is jet propelled.  Versions of this device are rigged to “deploy” up to 6 divers at a time.  The system is equipped with depth sensors, sonar, navigation system, etc..  Basically James Bond would have one of these in his garage…too cool!!

Congratulations to these new Nautilus CCR Divers!!!

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

Bruce Bearfeld, Reinaldo Rios, Roberto Cortes, Guillermo Gonzalez, Dael Vasquez, Jose Cortes, Heriberto Olguin, and Mike Saint Claire have recently joined the ranks of CCR divers.  They have all completed the recreational rebreather diver program, and we look forward to seeing them again for the technical rebreather diver program.

The bay of Cabo San Lucas offers an ideal training area.  The depths vary from 15 feet to the abyss, and the boat ride is only a matter of minutes from the canyon dive sites.

Nautilus Dive Tech is Now Open !!!

Friday, June 17th, 2011

In Januarry 2011, Team Nautilus decided to expand the operation in Cabo San Lucas by opening a full service dive center.  The shop supports diver education at every level and specializes in technical diving and rebreather training.

The equipment showroom carries a full range of hard goods and diving accessories.  Current lines incude Oceanic, Hollis, Xs Scuba, Intova, Analox, Dive Alert, Shearwater Research, as well as an array of dive education materials.

The airconditioned classroom has all the comforts of home.   We take full advantage of multimedia and web based resources.  Students also have full access to our ever growing  library of materials.

Most of our training courses include practice sessions in our 130,000 liter training pool.  The majority of the pool is 15 feet deep with a 4 foot area for stagging and shallow water skill development.

Compressed breathing air, SafeAir/Nitrox, and Trimix are filled at our SafeAir Blending Station.  The gas is tested quarterly to the hightest standard in tthe world.  Results are posted for public varification.

The shops primary dive boat is a 21 foot Carolina Skiff.  The flat bottom vessel makes an excellent dive platform.  The on board crane system aides in lifting heavy equipment out of the water.  We plan to add some new toys to the craft this summer…check back for details.  When neccessary, we work with local charter companies to secure  vessels for larger groups.

The shops webpage (currently under construction) is www.nautilusdivetech.com We can be followed on facebook at the following link.
