Nautilus Dive Tech just received our latest
report from Trace Analytics Gas Analysis.  We continue to exceed the
industry standard by complying with the ANDI Oxygen Compatible Air
Standard.  All dive centers should have their air tested quarterly in
order to provide their clients with safe breathing gases.  Some dive
centers test their gas annually.  This is a step in the right direction,
but it is not sufficent to practically maintain quality air
standards.  Furthermore, an annual test that is completed immediately
after a filter change does not accurately represent the long term quality of
the air.  The last NDT gas report was taken at the end of the filter
cycle.  Theoretically this is the worse the gas should be.  It is
still within ANDI Oxygen compatible air standards. NDT

whale shark research on pregnant females

One of the Nautilus Dive Tech instructors (Roberto Cortes) has had the privelege of assisting on a couple of dive/snorkel excursions to Gordo Banks studying the behavior of pregnant females.  It is one of the few documented places to see these amazing animals during this part of their life cycle.  We hope this will lead to a better understanding and further conservation of this gentle giant.  Unfortunatel,y this particular animal looks to have been injured along its side.

Carlos Cardiel and the Nautilus CCR

Nautilus Closed Circuit Rebreather Divers

Carlos Cardiel, TDI instructor trainer, recently completed his training on the Nautilus CCR.  The folks at Nautilus want to thank Carlos for his support and look forward to diving with him in the Riviera Maya later this year.  As divers pass through Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Cozumel, they may contact German Yanez and or Carlos Cardiel for an introduction to the Nautilus Closed Circuit Rebreather.

Participants will watch a video presentation that explains the basic principals of SCUBA, and learn the function of the various components of the SCUBA system. Once the participants are ready, they will move to the 130,000 liter training pool for a fun introduction to the world of diving.  Bring your bathing suit, towel, and get ready to take the plunge.

DURATION: FOUR (4) SATURDAYS BEGINNING FIRST SATURDAY OF THE SPECIFIC MONTH WITH EACH SESSION LASTING APPROXIAMATELY FOUR (4) HOURS, 8AM-12NOON.

SKILLS AND ACTIVITIES: ADVANCED SWIMMING, FLOATATION AND TREADING WATER SKILLS. MASK, FINS AND SNORKELS WILL BE EXTENSIVELY USED AND PRACTICED WITH. ALL ACTIVITIES AND GAMES WILL INVOLVE THE SKILLS LEARNED AND ENCOMPASS WORKING AS A TEAM. BASIC SCUBA SKILLS AND EQUIPMENT WILL BE INTRODUCED AND PRACTICED, FIRST IN THE NAUTILUS POOL AND THEN IN THE SAFETY OF THE CONFINED WATERS OF CHILENO BAY. ADVENTURE, KNOWLEDGE AND FUN ARE TO BE HAD BY ALL!!!!!

Nautilus Dive Tech is hosting a week of no bubble fun for CCR divers!  Take a break from the rain and come down for some fun in the sun!

Morning excursions will include dive trips to the Cabo San Lucas Canyon, The Corridor, and Gordo Banks.  An official schedule of dive sites will be developed once we meet a minimum number of confirmed divers and evaluate the groups experience level.   Recreational divers and tech heads welcome.

Water visibility:          15-50 feet

Water temperature:  65-75 degrees

Depth:                         20-300+ feet (experience limiting)

Air temperature:                     Low 65/ High 80

Chance of Rain:          Almost zero

CCR VACATION PACKAGES

All packages include Hotel taxes and surcharges.

*Divers who wish to extend their vacation may add additional days for an extra charge.
